The story

World Class Willow is a Somerset bat maker that handles the whole process in house, from felling willow trees and splitting clefts through to pressing and finishing each blade. Every cleft is checked for wind damage and moisture before shaping, and each bat is pressed individually to suit that particular piece of willow. The workshop is led by master batmaker Mike Kennedy.

In June 2026 the business moved into a new purpose-built factory and showroom on the outskirts of Yeovil, where visitors can see bats being made by appointment. Its bats are used by a number of county and franchise professionals, and it also runs a sponsorship scheme for promising cricketers.
