Who we are

Middle & Leg is run by Cressy Solutions Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17519841. Registered office: 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA. Email arthur@saint.work; we reply within one working day.

Who does what

Middle & Leg is a marketplace. For bats sold maker direct, you buy from us: Cressy Solutions Ltd, trading as Middle & Leg, is the seller, takes your payment and is who you deal with from start to finish. The maker builds and sends the bat.

  • We fit you, confirm the bat, price and delivery with the maker, take your payment, answer your questions, and handle returns, refunds and any problems with your order.
  • The maker builds or selects your bat to the spec we've agreed, knocks it in if you asked, and sends it to you. They don't take payment from you and you don't need to chase them; we do that.
  • We don't make bats, hold stock or change a maker's design. Specs and photos come from the maker; we check them by hand.
  • For bats sold through UK shops, the shop is the seller instead.

How a request works

  • Sending a request is free and doesn't commit you to anything. Nothing is charged at that point.
  • We check the bat with the maker (or a UK shop): stock, a weight in your range, the price, delivery cost and dates. Then we email you with all of it.
  • You only pay once you've seen that and said yes. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see your full card details.
  • Price promise. If the confirmed price is higher than the price we showed for that bat, you can walk away. No charge.
  • Prices and specs are as published by each maker and checked by hand. If something has changed, we tell you before you pay.

The 14-day money-back guarantee

  • Ready-made bats sold maker direct come with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
  • You pay the full price upfront, before the bat is sent. We confirm stock and price with the maker first, then send you a secure payment link. The 14 days start on the day the bat is delivered.
  • Don't like it? Tell us within 14 days of delivery and send it back unused. We refund everything you paid, including the original delivery, within 14 days of getting it back. No questions, no restocking fee.
  • Unused means no ball contact, no oil, and stickers and wrapping intact. Shadow-batting and checking the pick-up are fine; that's the point.
  • If you ask for a ready-made bat to be knocked in before it's sent, it has had ball contact, so it isn't covered by the money-back guarantee. We'll remind you before you pay. Your legal rights for faulty bats still apply.
  • You pay the return postage, and the bat is your responsibility until it reaches us, so use a tracked, insured service. If it's faulty or not as described, we cover the return.
  • If a bat comes back used or damaged, we may reduce the refund to cover the loss in value. We'll show you why before we do.

Your right to cancel

For ready-made bats bought online, you have 14 days from delivery to tell us you want to cancel, and a further 14 days to send the bat back. We refund you within 14 days of getting it back. If it has been used beyond what you'd do in a shop, we may reduce the refund to reflect that. The money-back guarantee works alongside these rights; it doesn't replace them.

Made-to-order bats

  • You pay when you confirm the order. Made-to-order bats are built to your spec, so they're not covered by the money-back guarantee, and the 14-day cancellation right doesn't apply once the build has started.
  • You can cancel free of charge at any time before the maker starts the build. We'll tell you when that is.
  • We confirm the spec, price, delivery and lead time with the maker before you pay. Lead times are usually two to six weeks.

Bats sold through UK shops

Some makers only sell through shops. For those bats we pass your request to a UK shop that stocks the maker. You buy from the shop, at the shop's price and on the shop's terms, including returns and knocking-in. We tell you who the shop is and what their terms are before you commit.

Faulty bats

Tell us, not the maker; we sort it out. Your legal rights always apply. If a bat is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Cricket bats do crack with normal wear, especially without proper knocking-in; tell us what happened and we'll take it up with the maker.

Delivery

We deliver in the UK only for now. Delivery is free on bats over £200; below that, the cost is confirmed in our email before you pay, along with the delivery date. The maker sends the bat directly to you.
