The story

Robert Pack set up his business in 2004 after more than 25 years in bat making, including spells working for Kookaburra, Alfred Reader and Puma. He makes two brands: BlueRoom, which he began in 1994 in his grandfather's garage and which takes its surf-inspired name from the hollow of a breaking wave, and RPC, a more traditional range launched in 2011 using willow from the Boughton House estate.

The company is a family business run from a showroom and workshop on Irthlingborough High Street. Rob grades every blade himself and speaks to each online customer before a bat is sent. Custom work, from copying an old favourite to a bat built to your own design, is quoted individually.
