The story

Chase Cricket dates from 1996 and describes itself as reimagined in 2007, when the business was acquired from former England batter Robin Smith by its current owner, named on the site as Dan. Bats are made on site at a converted farm workshop near Basingstoke, by a team that produces thousands of bats a year.

Apart from handles, materials are sourced in the UK, with willow from the south east. Chase sells online and through specialist retailers, runs a large shop beside the workshop with a viewing area, and offers bespoke appointments where a bat is shaped with the customer present.
