The story

Duncan Fearnley learned bat making as an apprentice in Yorkshire in 1955, fitting the work around his own cricket. He later moved to Worcestershire to play county cricket, carried on making bats through the winters, and turned it into a full business once his playing days were over.

The company says it was the first to put a printed logo on a bat, the Black Wickets device. Over the following decades the name was carried by Test players from England and overseas, most notably Ian Botham. Today it sells its own bats alongside a wide range of kit from a shop in Worcester.

Where they're made UK, as stated on the 5* range product pages; other ranges give no origin.

Willow English willow (Grade 1 unbleached, air-dried on top models); one Kashmir willow model.
