The story
Gunn & Moore was formed in 1885 when the Nottinghamshire cricketer William Gunn went into partnership with local businessman Thomas J Moore, alongside bat maker William Sherwin. The firm has made bats in Nottinghamshire ever since and says every GM bat is still produced at its factory there, using willow it has sourced itself for generations.
In 2007 it introduced its DXM manufacturing process, and today English willow bats leave the factory under the GM NOW! service, already knocked in, oiled and fitted with a clear face cover and toe protection. The brand now sells online through the Play With The Best platform run by Unicorn Products, alongside darts and other sports brands.
Where they're made Own factory in Nottingham, England (English willow bats).
Willow English willow (Salix caerulea), sourced by GM itself; Kashmir willow used for some models.
