The story
Garrard Crafted began in 2015 as the Garrard and Flack Cricket Bat Company, set up by two school friends. It started in a garage and has since moved to a larger workshop in West Row, Suffolk, with more equipment. The company says it is run by two people and supplies English willow bats to customers in the UK and abroad.
Bats are made from the cleft using willow grown in Suffolk. Rather than a fixed model range, the shop releases small batches of individually weighed bats under labels such as Special Stock, Suffolk Select, Short Blade Specials and Workshop Stock. A custom option is listed, bespoke requests are taken through the contact page, and subscribers can see new releases a day early.
